1. What is this ?
This is coin-vote, the world's first publicly verifiable, unbreakable, uncorruptible voting system.
2. How do I vote?
You first select your choice on a question, then press "Submit". You will be given a "Message to be signed", along with two empty fields. Go to your bitcoin wallet, choose an address that holds funds and use your wallet or bitcoin key to sign the message. You have to put the address (or TXID) which you used to make the signature in the first field on the coin-vote website, and the signature produced by your wallet in the second. Then, click submit. Your vote will be verified and counted.
3. Wait, I need bitcoin to vote?
Yes. That's how it becomes verifiable and uncorruptible. Just as there are no counterfeit bitcoins, there are no counterfeit votes.
4. How do I submit a question?
Submitting a question for voting is temporarily free. Select "Add new question", and fill out the fields describing your question. After the trial period ends, you will need to follow instructions on the site to submit your question including payment.
5. Are my coins secure?
Coin-vote holds no personal information or funds. However to submit a vote it is required to sign a message with a bitcoin private key. When signing a message with your private key, you must make sure the message is in fact a coin-vote message and not something else.
All coin-vote messages begin with English text, for example:
Private keys holding substantial funds should be kept isolated and secure. The recommended procedure for signing a coin-vote message is the same as for signing any bitcoin transaction. Coin-vote is in no way responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your private key while you sign a message!! If you don't understand this, please don't use coin-vote (or bitcoin).
6. How can I find out more about the coin-vote system?
7. How can I use a coin-vote with an alt-coin, share, ID, or other system? Can I put an advertisement up on your site?
Custom voting solutions are available. You can contact us via email (office [-at-] vtscc.org) with any other questions related to coin-vote.com.
8. How can I verify my vote / other votes?
Click the "View DB in Json" button to download the entire database. This includes addresses and signatures for each question. You will have to verify these signatures by hand for now; we are working on a tool to do the verification for you using public blockchain apis.
9. I have a question not answered here, can I get live support ?
Yes. #bitcoin-assets on freenode, look for funkenstein_.
